Microsoft Realigns Its Organizational Structure to Match Its Corporate Strategy

In June 2015, Microsoft changed its organizational structure to consist of three product strategic business units (SBUs): 1) Windows and Devices Group (WDG), 2) Cloud and Enterprise (C+E), and 3) Applications and Services Group (ASG) – each SBU being headed by an Executive Vice President (EVP). The new WDG Group combines what previously were two groups: 1) Operating Systems Group and 2) Microsoft Devices Group. The C+E Group now includes what previously were separate Dynamics development teams. With the design changes, several top executives left the company, and several were took on new responsibilities. Kurt DelBene is the EVP for Corporate Strategy and Planning. Following the structure changes, Microsoft’s top executive team consists of a CEO, a COO, and ten EVPs, as follows:

Chris Capossela, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer
Kurt DelBene, EVP, Corporate Strategy and Planning
